Chocolate Vanilla Pinwheel Cookie Recipe Ingredients: 1 pound butter 3 cups sugar 6 cups flour 4 eggs 1 cup semi sweet chocolate 1/4 cup cocoa powder 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons shortening 2 teaspoons vanilla To melt chocolate combine shortening with chocolate chips in microwave for 2 minutes at medium heat and then stir. Preparation: 1. In mixer cream room temperature butter 2. Add sugar 3. Add eggs 4. Add vanilla 5. Add salt 6. Add baking powder 7. Add flour in 3 steps - 2 cups each 8. Mix until combined 9. Divide dough in half - set half aside 10. Add melted chocolate and cocoa powder to half of the dough 11. Combine ingredients. Divide dough into 4 equal pieces - refrigerate 1 hour 12. Roll dough of vanilla and chocolate until thin and equal size 13. On waxed paper layer chocolate and vanilla dough and then roll 14. Seal and refrigerate overnight (minimum 4 hours) 15. Cut logs into slices and place onto cookie pan with parchment paper 16. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees - cool on rack before serving
