Here's my entry into Ballistic BBQ's burger contest! I have been thinking about this entry for quite a while and decided to work from a real and simple perspective with some over the top flavor. These burgers were awesome and actually got two thumbs up from my girlfriend, who isn't much of a meat eater. The Nature's Choice cedar planks add an excellent smoke flavor and aroma to these burgers. The recipe for the Italian Sausage is as follows: 2 lbs Ground Pork (I used Boston Butt and ground it myself) 1 tbsp salt 1 tbsp freshly ground fennel seed 1 tbsp minced garlic 1 1/2 tbps sweet paprika 1 tbsp sugar 3 tbsp red wine vinegar Mix it all up and let it marinate!
