The egg was at room temperature which means that it will cook faster. The room was at around 90 degrees so even though I just took the butter out of the refrigerator, it was starting to melt.

For many of us, tucking into a perfectly cooked steak is an indulgence. However, you may not have considered that lean red meat can help in maintaining a healthy body weight and the prevention of obesity, a major risk factor for heart disease. From quality lamb to beef and pork, there are a wide variety of cuts to choose from, all of which can provide delicious and low fat meals for the whole family. New butchery techniques provide cuts of meat that are really lean and ideal for quick healthy cooking methods such as stir frying, dry frying and grilling. Red meat is an excellent source of iron, protein and B vitamins, which help give your body energy. This is especially important for young children and teenagers as they are more in need of essential vitamins and minerals. It can even help you fit into that dress or those favourite pair of jeans. That's because lean red meat can help with satiety (the feeling of fullness after eating) which means it can potentially play a part in preventing over-eating or snacking between meals. So what better reason to start cooking up a storm in the kitchen using meat as the basis for the meal? In order to celebrate World Heart Day, MeatMATTERS has launched a campaign to highlight the role that lean red meat can play in a balanced diet to achieve a healthy heart and to challenge the misconceptions surrounding red meat. In our live webTV show actress Lynda Bellingham and nutritionist Nigel Denby explain how you can get the most from meat ...

We successfully fried up a 13-pound turkey for Thanksgiving without blowing up the backyard. Seriously, frying a turkey comes with some inherit dangers, so please be safe if you go this route. frying the bird does make for a fantastic meal. We begin by showing how we marinated the turkey the night before. The frying comes in the second half. For the recipe, we essentially followed Emeril Lagasse's cooking directions as well as frying insight from Alton Brown. Here's the recipe for what is filmed: Marinate the turkey for 12-18 hours before frying. Use: 6 cups of hots water Pour in 1 pound of salt and 1 pound of brown sugar. Drop in a handful of thyme. Drop in 2 lemons and 2 oranges, sliced. Stir. Pour in 6 cups of ice. Place in the turkey. Let sit over night. frying FOLLOW your directions on your fryer! We used 3 gallons and a few cups of vegetable oil. Warm the oil to around 290F. Take the bird out, pat dry. Lower the turkey into the oil slowly! Stay at your station...never leave cooking oil alone! Check the meat's temp every 10 minutes or so. Remove the bird once it reaches 155-160F. Let the bird sit inside for 30 minutes. The internal temp of the meat will rise around 10-14F to fully cooked and juicy. ENJOY!!!
